User roles and admin access
The difference between a role and admin access, and what only admins can do.
Last updated September 20, 2026
Every user has a role and may additionally have admin access. The two are independent.
Roles
A role describes your job. It is shown as a badge in the user menu and on the Users page. Roles do not change what you can see or do.
- Sales Manager
- Account Executive
- SDR
- Other — the default for new users
Admin access
Admins have a red Admin badge. All signed-in users can work with accounts, contacts, opportunities, meetings, support cases, and activities. Only admins can open these pages:
| Page | Where to find it | What it is for |
|---|---|---|
| Users | Sidebar | Change users' roles and admin access. |
| Admin Settings | Sidebar | Turn the AI assistant on or off and load sample data. |
| Company | User menu (your avatar) | Edit your company's details and logo. |
New users are never admins. An existing admin has to grant admin access from the Users page. If you open an admin-only page without admin access, you see an error page with the message Forbidden.
